Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has described the death of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme as “yet another depletion in the
dwindling ranks of elder statesmen with an abiding love for the country and humanity”.
In a condolence message to the Ekwueme family, the governor said: “We received the news of his passing with deep sadness and consider it a huge loss not only to his family but to the entire country”.
Gov. Ugwuanyi, who mourned with the late former Vice President’s family, offered his deepest condolences, on behalf of the government and the good people of Enugu State, and expressed gratitude to them “for their gift of this icon of democracy”.
