Investigation by this newspaper reveal that the initial resistance by the collusion of INEC and APC has given way for the PDP to commence inspection of ballot papers used during the election.
According to a report by Hon George Edigin, the PDP’s team for ballot inspection has arrived. It was not clear whether the PDP team would deplore forensic machines in their inspection work but LeadersNG will keep you posted.
“Our Team (PDP) for Inspection of Ballot papers and other relevant INEC materials as regard Edo 2016 Governorship Election, commenced yesterday in INEC head office in Benin city.” Hon Edigin said.
Meanwhile, the APC has less than 24 hours to submit their response to the PDP petition to the tribunal. The APC risk having judgement entered in the favour of the PDP should they fail to enter a response challenging the petition of the PDP.
According to the rules of the tribunal, if the APC responds today, the PDP will be given seven days to respond or reaffirm their earlier petition to the tribunal. If after the responses, there are still contending issues, the tribunal would then open its floor for hearing and cross examinations.
Interestingly, the APC has relocated to her abandoned Secretariat after it had told the world that that secretariat did no longer belong to them because it was sold.
