EXCLUSIVE | As dollar hits N492, presidency spends N612m on Launch of Book on Buhari

More and more allegations of wastage continue to trail the presidency and each time the figures are astonishing considering the current economic conditions of the country.

It does seem like the Presidency is always seeking for an excuse to dip its dirty hands into the national treasury and this excuse came this time in the form of President Buhari’s book presentation which was revealed to have gulped a whooping N612 million.

A source within the Presidency at Aso rock villa revealed this to us in a closed door interview that the money was allegedly spent on logistics, travels and hotels for invited guests, honorarium for lecturers, musicians, comedians and other entertainers present.

Our source also added that the guests were also treated to a souvenir costing nearly N800k per guest as a welcome package. This welcome package also included cash gifts.

These expenses from the presidency were not included in the budget approved earlier this year by the national Assembly so it raises the question of “where did the presidency get the money from?”.

While we will not indulge in the schematics of budgeting to save our readers the time, we will also do well to remind everyone that there are IDPs in northern Nigeria who do not have access to food while the presidency continues to live large.
