EXCLUSIVE | Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari behind ‘quit notice’ to Igbos living in the North

An investigation by LeadersNG have revealed that the recent turmoil in the Nigerian political space was as a result of a directive from the Chief of Staff to the president, Abba Kyari and some powerful Northern elements.

Source within the presidency told LeadersNG that the directive by the Northern Youths and the follow up statement backing the actions of the youths by some Northern Elders led by Ango Abdullahi was engineered by the Chief of Staff and the Northern elements as a counter narrative to the ever growing discussions on the Igbos move to secede from Nigeria.
Our source who pleaded anonymity for security reasons says, “the presidency was so worried about the successful seat at home protest on the 30th of May as directed by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu which many Igbos in the South-East obeyed”.

Our source further stated that the aim of this directive by the Chief of Staff was to douse tension and prove to the Igbos that nobody owns a monopoly of violence and by virtue of this directive, the Igbos living in the North will be conscious enough to openly dissociate themselves from Nnamdi Kanu’s agitation for a Biafran state and also call on their brothers who are supporting Nnmadi Kanu to desist from doing so.

The source also said, the move was tactical and aimed at uniting the Nation ahead of 2019 general elections and beyond that non of those Northern Youths and elders will be arrested as it was a premeditated plans to use the directive to counter Nnamdi Kanu’s agitation and to further minimize the secession plan which is gaining momentum in the South-East.
All efforts to reach the Chief Of staff prove abortive as at the time of filing this report.
