Facebook has been trying to imitate Snapchat for a while now & has had to scrap several of its imitators. They’ve recently been testing their “Quick Updates” app which is a feature where updates don’t show up in the news feed on user’s profiles, but a different part of the app. Facebook said that they were testing the product with some users. They wanted to give the users tools to have customisedsharing compared to a News Feed broadcast. Basically, Facebook wants to see people share more personal content as compared to other content. But a log of “original sharing” has moved on to Instagram, which is now owned by FB. To make a strong comeback, FB will really have to redo the way people upload images as well as videos, & even be able to edit them online.
