Reports are in that ISIS carried out its first successful drone attack recently by using a commercially available drone to deliver explosives & kill 2 Kurdish fighters.
In December, a Kurdish Facebook group said that ISIS had sent 2 small drones with explosives to cause havoc, but they were shot down. It also said that the drones were being used for reconnaissance.
The incidents have put forward questions towards drone makers, in particular, DJI, about how their products are found with terrorists. DJI enjoys around 70% of the commercial drone market & is often named in the media. DJI, however, denies that its drones were used in the attack, but acknowledges that its drones had been used to conduct surveillance
