Northern group asks Atiku to declare himself President if Incumbent President Buhari rigs the Feb. 16th elections
– Northern Progressive Youths under the auspices of Arewa Renaissance Congress have called on the People’s Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar not to concede defeat should the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and the cabal rig themselves back to Power in the forth coming General elections.
The group in a Press Statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna said, from all indications and available indices, The Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the next President of Nigeria.
The group through its convener, Malam Abdulrazak Abdulmuminu says “in an unlikely event the cabal refuses to concede defeat and hand over to Atiku, the former Vice President should do the needful and declare himself as the legitimate president of Nigeria”.
Mr. Abdulrazak while reacting to the statement made by Kaduna Governor over foreigners’ interference in Nigeria’s polls said, the Kaduna Governor is a notorious bigot who always incites violence at a slightest provocation.
Razak describes Elrufai’s statement as unfortunate, irresponsible, senseless and nonsensical. He further stated that the statement is capable inciting violence, cause carnage in the already volatile Country.
The group enjoined the security agencies to as a matter of urgency prosecute the governor and call him to order.
The group Spokesperson, Alhaji Iliyasu Danladi urged the international community not to hesitate in recognizing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the President of Nigeria if the cabal insists on holding on to power.
“Nigeria as it stands, has similar economic challenges with Venezuela and the people had a golden opportunity of unseating the incumbent President Nicolas Maduro who plunged the nation into economic recession. Venezuelians made a bold statement through a democratic process. If Buhari refuses to accept defeat, Atiku must declare himself as the President just like Juan Guaido”.
“President Buhari’s continuous stay in office portends a grievous danger to not just the unity of the country but the economic future of our great country”.
“President Muhammadu Buhari’s abysmal performance in the last 3/2 years in office has not only be a cog in the wheel of progress in Northern Nigeria, but the entire Nigeria and the continent of Africa”.
The group concluded by saying that it will be a patriotic thing to do if Atiku declare himself as the legitimate president of Nigeria if the cabal subverts the will of the people in the coming Presidential polls.
