Obama and Trump

President Obama will leave office as the most admired man in America — while Donald Trump grabbed the second spot, according to a new poll.

In a Gallup Poll, 22 percent of Americans named Obama when asked, “What man that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire most?”

Fifteen percent named the president-elect, while Pope Francis was named by 4 percent of respondents to come in third place.

However, the poll states, 8 percent of respondents to the poll name a friend or relative as the person they most admired, while 23 percent had no opinion.

Meanwhile, for the 21st time, Hillary Clinton was named the most admired woman, receiving the support of 12 percent of respondents to the poll. Michelle Obama came in second place, with 8 percent, while German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Oprah Winfrey came in third place with 3 percent of the vote.

The poll was conducted Dec. 7-11 and sampled 1,028 adults in America.
