Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has said that Pep Guardiola has banned cell phones in an effort to build team spirit at the club.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach has also made his players eat together at the club’s Etihad Campus and has cut the internet completely to encourage the players to interact with each other.
Zabaleta, away with Argentina for their World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Paraguay, told reporters: “He cuts off the internet and we are incommunicado.”
Nevertheless, the Argentine said he was lucky to get a chance to work with Guardiola.
“You always dream about being coached by one of the best, and right now I have the opportunity to work with one of the best.
“Really, one learns a lot, especially about life. Beyond all his wisdom, he has a real passion for football.”
