REPORT: Boko Haram ambush convoy of 20 vehicles in Borno, kidnap over 120 passengers including women and children

Dreaded Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday ambushed over 7 trucks carrying passengers and food items along Maiduguri-Damboa road.

The Incident according to military sources occurred on Saturday precisely at Kuwa Kauwa, a village close to Bulaburin in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

A local vigilante in Damboa told our correspondent that this has become a frequent occurrence as people are being kidnapped and killed by Boko Haram terrorists without any help coming from the security agencies.

LeadersNG source revealed that most times, before trucks leave Maiduguri markets for Damboa, The Nigerian Army used to accompany them, but on that faithful day, being Saturday, none of them were available to provide security for the locals traveling from Maiduguri to neighboring villages around Damboa.

Amongst those kidnapped on Saturday were Women and Children.

When contacted on phone, LeadersNG military sources told our correspondent that the Army does not want to make any public announcement of people being kidnapped and killed as it would dent the image of the president and also the Nigerian Army authorities that had declared that the terror group ‘Has been technically defeated’.
