Germany started their defence of the World Cup with a sparkling 3-0 win over Norway in their first World Cup qualifying match. Joachim Loew’s side were in control from start to finish in Oslo.

Germany, led by Manuel Neuer, went ahead in the 15th minute when Mesut Ozil’s ball into the box was prodded in by Muller. Right-back Joshua Kimmich doubled Germany’s lead after thumping home a finish after being played in by Muller. The impressive Bayern forward got a deserved 2nd goal in the 2nd half when he finished off a sensational team move with a well-placed header.
