Two Policemen Crushed To Death in Ilesa

Two police officers attached to the High Way Patrol Team have been crushed to death by reckless driver.

The incident occurred along Ilesa-Osogbo road.

The two police officers identified as Sergeant Hayatu and Sergeant Moshood Adesanmi were said to have been on patrol along the way when the incident happened.

The driver, simply identified as Oluwamuyiwa Emmanuel was said to have been on high speed with a Toyota Camry Muzzle with registration number MUS 313 ET and ran into the police check point and hit the two policemen.

A senior police officer at Ayeso A’ Divisional Police Station, Idowu Adedeji confirmed the incident.

He the police officers were just unlucky as men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and Vehicle Inspection Directorate were also very close to the scene when it occurred but narrowly escaped being hit as well as the reckless driver.

Adedeji blamed the driver for reckless driving and called on motorists to avoid being driving against traffic.

He pointed out that few days ago a traffic warden was also knock down along the road at Enu-Odi Ijebu Jess.

Also speaking on the incident, the Ilesa Unit Commander of FRSC,  Mr. Samuel Oyedeji noted that the Driver, was identified as a yahoo boy.

Mr Oyedeji noted that the driver who is now being interrogated by the police would be charged to the court after investigations.
