Umurhohwo @Stalyf hails Okowa’s victory as a deserved reward for excellence.
A communication expert and political strategist, Mr. Oke Umurhohwo, has
hailed the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as Governor of Delta
State as a confirmation of acceptance of his laudable progress recorded in the
last four years, saying his victory sealed the path of the state towards an
uninterrupted growth and development.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared
Governor Okowa winner of the March 9th governorship election in the state as he
polled a total number of 925,274 votes to defeat the runner-up, Great Ogboru,
who secured 215,938 votes.
Congratulating the Governor on his victory, Mr. Umurhohwo described
Okowa as an astute performer whose reign in the last four years has brought
deserved developments to the state, adding that his re-election will
consolidate efforts to make Delta State the pride of the Niger Delta and
Nigeria as a whole.
Mr. Umurhohwo who expressed confidence in the ability of Okowa to repay
the overwhelming supports of Deltans with more vigour to their services,
however, solicited supports for the governor to deliver on set mandate that
comes with his re-election.
“I heartily congratulate His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Arthur
Okowa, on his impressive victory that secured his re-election in the just
concluded election,” Mr. Umurhohwo said in his signed congratulatory
“I’m delighted that Deltans appreciated the enormous progress your
administration has made and handed you another mandate to continue to work for
the good and developments of our dear state.
“I’m confident that the trust placed in you, as clearly shown in
the election results, will inspire you to continue to pursue development legacies
and complete the process of making Delta State the pride of Niger Delta, and
indeed, the whole Nigeria.”
Mr. Umurhohwo reminded politicians that the electioneering period is
over and that they must all come together for the progress of Delta State, impressing
on opposition candidates to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and focus on
moving the state forward.
“The elections are over and we must all, in the interest of Delta
State, accept the choice of the people and focus on what would move this state
forward,” he said.
Mr. Umurhohwo prayed for the success of Governor Okowa, saying “As
you go on with your new four years mandate, my prayer is that the Almighty God
will continue to enrich you with the understandings and strength to compliment
other stakeholders’ efforts to achieve the Delta State of our dreams.”
