Senator representing Plateau South in the National Assembly Prof Nora Ladi Daduut ,
has advocated the need to adopt a more holistic approach in tackling security challenges facing the country .
Daduut who expressed sorrow at the continued abduction of women and girls by insurgents and bandits in the country said women and girls in the country have continued to suffer abductions both in the hands of insurgents and bandits.
“As a mother, I share the sorrow and agony of the victims and their families.”
A statement made available to newsmen in Jos and signed by the Senator said she made this known while Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Wednesday in support of a motion sponsored by Senator Bala Ibn N’Allah and other Senators .
Senator Daduut a Professor of French called on Nigerians to support the Federal government and the Senate in it’s fight to tackle insecurity in the country
The statement reads that ” I would always support any motion to tackle insecurity especially banditry that has ravaged several communities in the country especially in the Northern parts .”
Daduut who commended security operatives for the good works they are doing to tackle insecurity,however called on them to do more and ensure that citizens of the country stay peacefully with one another at all times .
Senator Daduut who applauded the leadership style of the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan vowed to always put the interest of her constituents first in all her dealings while in the National Assembly .
The Senator further lauded the peace building efforts of Governor Simon Lalong and called on citizens of Plateau to support him .
It could be recalled that the Senate on Wednesday urged the Federal government to deploy massively, the military and other law enforcement agencies to conduct a rigorous operation that would end the cases of banditry and cattle rustling in parts of the country .
