The disgraced former Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Beta Edu who is being investigated for diverting N585million, is also being investigated for looting $1.5million World Bank grant while serving as a Cross River State official.
Edu, a one time Special Adviser on Community and Primary Healthcare and later Commissioner for Health, in Cross River State, is alleged to have moved the $1.5million World Bank grant to a private account from where it ended up in the account of a Bureau De Change who thereafter converted the dollars to Naira and wired back to a dedicated account belonging to the former Minister.
The owner of the BDC has already told investigators the role he played in the deal.
