Reactions As Emir Of Kano Says A Gov Practicing Sharia Stole Public Funds And Bought Hotel In Lagos.
There have been several reactions from social media users after the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi said one of the governors implementing sharia stole public funds and bought a hotel in Lagos.
Emir Sanusi made the statement while speaking during a virtual Ramadan lecture on Sunday. Speaking on the topic titled “Some Dimensions of the Concept of Ibadah”, the Emir of Kano said there are some people who claimed to be worshipping the Almighty Allah yet they get involved in some societal ills such as greed, selfishness, and corruption.
Emir Sanusi said they had some governors who said they were leading the implementation of Sharia but they were stealing money and buying hotels.
The Emir was quoted as saying;
“We have had some state governors who said they were practising sharia, they were leading the implementation of sharia and they were stealing money and buying hotels. There was a governor implementing sharia in a sharia state who stole public funds and bought a hotel in Lagos”.
