Car Snatchers Who Shot Anambra Motorist Arrested In Adamawa En Route Cameroon To Sell Vehicle

The Nigerian police in Adamawa State have arrested two allegedly notorious transborder car snatchers, who shot a man and snatched his car in faraway Anambra State.

The car snatchers, Saidu Mohammed, 30 and Rabiu Idris, 25, who specialised in moving stolen vehicles to the Republic of Cameroon, reportedly shot at one Daiso Kyrian, a resident of Awka, the Capital of Anambra State and robbed him of his car.

They were however, intercepted by the police in Adamawa State on their way to dispose of the vehicle in the Republic of Cameroon.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the arrest to SaharaReporters on Saturday.

He said, “On 20/05/2024, the Adamawa State Police Command received a complaint from one Daiso Kyrian, that on 12/04/2024, armed robbers attacked him in Awka, Anambra State, shot him, and stole his Lexus Jeep RX 330. 

“Upon receiving the report, thorough investigation was carried out by the Command’s  surveillance team. Luckily one Saidu Mohammed Aged 30 years of Gombi LGA, was arrested in possession of thep said Vehicle.

“Investigation further conducted led to the arrest of another 25-year old Rabiu Idris of the same address in connection with the case. 

“The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, while commending the officers, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the state.”
