A disturbing viral video circulating on social media has shown a thug identified as Egogo Emmanuel, aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) making violent threats at a polling unit in Ward 9, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State during the ongoing governorship election.
The video shows Emmanuel brazenly boasting in front of voters that if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were to win the polling unit, he would “scatter the place.”
His threats also came with a shocking revelation that he has the backing of powerful entities, including the police, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and even President Bola Tinubu, which he claimed gave him impunity to act without consequence.
In the video, Emmanuel can be heard saying, “If PDP wins this unit, I will scatter this place. I have the support of the police, President Tinubu, and INEC, so I can do anything and get away with it.”
The video has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many users condemning the apparent lawlessness and open intimidation of voters.
The video has further raised concerns about the impartiality of security agencies and INEC in ensuring a free and fair election.
Many Nigerians have taken to social media to demand the arrest of Egogo Emmanuel and the deployment of more security personnel to vulnerable polling units across the state.
