Reports from Edos state indicate that there is a plan to tamper with already uploaded governorship election results.
The plot is being orchestrated by a former governor from the South-South and a serving governor from the South-East, who are both chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The focus of the plot is on the results from Oredo, Egor, and Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Areas, which have already been uploaded to the INEC IREV portal.
Already, there is an attempt to halt collation at the local government level to manipulate figures and push fake results.
“Let no results move to the state level without complete collation at the LGA centers,” Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) federal lawmaker, Ikenga Ugochinyere stated.
He called on PDP members, other political parties, civil society organizations, and Edo citizens to mobilize and defend the vote.
He noted that this was a crucial moment, even as he declared: “Operation lock down these areas with every last breath.”
He further called on the public to document any suspicious activity using phone cameras and to ensure no electoral officer leaves their local government areas without finishing collation.
