Obio Akpor LG chair removes Wike’s name from council building

Chijioke Ihunwo, chairman of Obio Akpor LGA in Rivers, has scrubbed Nyesom Wike’s name off the administrative block of the council secretariat.

Wike, who is the minister of the federal capital territory (FCT) and former governor of Rivers, hails from Rumuepirikom in Obio-Akpor LGA of the state.

His name was boldly engraved on the administrative building of the council secretariat.

The minister’s name has now been replaced with Obi Wali’s, a former politician and activist in the state, who died in 1993.

Ihunwo posted videos on X on Sunday, showing the process of erasing Wike’s name from the block

The development follows the supremacy battle between Wike and Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers.
Last week, Fubara swore in 23 newly elected LGA chairpersons.
