As part of efforts to curb massive unemployment in Nigeria, the Blockchain Industry Coordinating Committee of Nigeria (BICCoN) has announced a strategic partnership with Global Blockchain giants, Algorand, for the Hackathon event holding in Taraba State from October 16 to November 10, 2024.
In a statement released by the Committee and signed by it’s Publicity Secretary, Kue Barinor Paul, Esq, the committee disclosed that it was excited to be the official community partner of Algorand and Taraba State government for the organization of Algorand Hackaton 2024.
The highly anticipated Algorand Hackaton event is a gathering of developers, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory in Nigeria to explore and harness the power of Algorand’s blockchain technology in solving real-world challenges.
Biccon, as the official community partner for the event, will play a pivotal role in engaging with blockchain communities, facilitating workshops, and providing mentorship to participants.

The committee further called on all BICCoN association-based members BNUG, CDiN, SiBAN etc and the wider Nigerian blockchain ecosystem to encourage participation from their respective networks.
They expressed optimism that the Algorand Hackaton is a unique opportunity for developers, entrepreneurs, and blockchain enthusiasts to collaborate, innovate, and showcase their talents globally. By participating in the Algorand Hackathon, they will compete for exciting prizes and contribute to shaping the future of blockchain technology in Nigeria and beyond.
