Lagos Police Sue Organisers Of Programme For Using Commissioner’s Name, Picture On Flyers As Guest ‘Without Permission’

Lagos State Police Command says it has commenced legal action against the organisers of a programme tagged ‘Global Property Conference’, scheduled to be hosted in the state in November.

The event is slated to hold on November 9, 2024 at Land Mark Event Centre on Victoria Island in Lagos.

One Dr Stephen Akintayo is listed as the Convener of the programme.

The Command in a statement signed by its Public Relation Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that it is not aware of the programme whose flyer carries the name and picture of the state police commissioner, CP Olanrewaju Ishola.

Benjamin described the flyer as the handiwork of mischief makers.

The statement reads in part, “The Lagos State Police Command wishes to alert the general public that the Command is not aware of a programme tagged Global Property Conference whose flyer carries the name and picture of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, psc+, mnips.

“The Command hereby confirms that the flyer is the handiwork of mischief makers planning to use the name and picture of the Commissioner of Police to confer legitimacy and endorsement on the said programme.

“Members of the public are urged to disregard the purported link of CP Olanrewaju Ishola with the programme and are assured that the Command has commenced necessary legal action against the organisers of the programme.”

Efforts made by SaharaReporters to reach the organisers via the numbers listed on the flyer failed as none of connected.
