The Lagos State Taskforce has apprehended 53 suspected drug dealers in a major operation targeting illicit drug activities at Gowon Estate, Ipaja.
The sting operation, executed after weeks of surveillance, focused on black spots notorious for drug distribution, including the 31 Road Junction, Bless Jah Street, Adenle Crescent, Owo Omo Osho Street, and parts of Okunola Road in Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Alimosho LGA
Meanwhile, the taskforce uncovered quantities of illicit substances such as Colorado, marijuana, tramadol capsules, codeine syrups, and suspected Canadian loud.
Tools used in the drug trade, including weighing scales and marijuana crushers, were also seized.
According to officials, the dealers targeted young men and women, luring them into the illicit trade with cash and incentives.
Those who resisted were reportedly harassed and threatened by cult gang members operating in the area.
Meanwhile, all suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution.
However, Lagos State Taskforce has reaffirmed its commitment to ridding the state of drug-related activities and ensuring the safety of its residents.
