Police operatives in Cross River State have arrested a 29-year-old man, Mathias Amunde Ugwe, in connection with the d3ath of his mum, Mrs Justina Amunde.
It was gathered that the suspect allegedly k+lled the deceased at their home in Ohong community, Obudu LGA of the state on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024.
It was gathered that the victim was m¥rdered and her hair shaved for rit¥als. Her body was recovered from a well on December 28, 2025.
Reports reveal that Mrs. Amunde returned home late on 24 December 2024 after attending a Christmas vigil. Unaware of what was about to unfold, she locked all the doors in the house, not realising that her son and his friend had conspired and were hiding in the store, lying in wait to carry out their plan.
