Dear esteemed and loyal members of the Peoples Democratic Party,
I write to you today, still reeling from the shocking events that transpired yesterday, January 29, 2025, at our party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja. The brazen attack by thugs and vagabonds hired by enemies of our great party has left me shaken but not broken.
As your National Secretary, I was physically assaulted in broad daylight, while security personnel stood by and did nothing to intervene and protect me. This senseless act of violence, which was not only targeted at me, also humiliated the members of our party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), who were gathered for a formal meeting.
In the face of this horrendous adversity, I urge you to remember that Nigeria and Nigerians need us now more than ever before. As the main opposition party, we are the beacon of hope for a better future, and we can not afford to let the enemies of progress bring us down.
We must continue our struggle for a united, prosperous, and just society, no matter the obstacles. We owe this to ourselves, our children, and the generations yet to come. We must, therefore, not allow the forces of darkness to prevail, and we must continue to shine the light of hope for a brighter democratic future.
As we move forward, let us remember that our strength lies in our unity and our commitment to our party’s ideals. Let us continue to work together, supporting each other and standing strong against the forces that seek to divide us.
As we do so, let us always remember to restrict ourselves within the confines of the law and our party’s constitution. We must conduct ourselves with integrity, transparency, and accountability, by always upholding the values that our party represents.
Let us show Nigerians and the world that we are a party of principle, courage, and conviction. Let us stand strong, united, and resolute, as we continue to fight for a better future for all Nigerians.
