Plateau North Youths and Students Endorse Hon Dachung Musa Bagos for 2027 Plateau North Senate Race

In a joint national press release held in the city of Jos, Plateau State, the leadership and members of the Plateau North Concerned Youths For Good Governance and Peace in collaboration with the National Association of Nigerian Students Zone C North Central, the organization unanimously passed a vote confidence on Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos and called on hin to run for Plateau North Senator. Part of the statements, as read my Mr. Omotosho Richard in resounding show of support, the Plateau North Concerned Youths for Peace and Good Governance, alongside the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) North Central Zone C and the Plateau State Students’ Union Government, have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos. The groups are urging the former federal lawmaker to declare his candidacy for the Plateau North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 elections, citing his proven leadership and dedication to the region’s progress.

The endorsement, framed as a clarion call for bold and visionary leadership, highlights Hon. Bagos’ track record of integrity, resilience, and community-focused service. During his tenure as the representative for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Bagos earned widespread admiration for his legislative achievements and hands-on approach to development. Key bills he sponsored, such as the Civil Aviation Act (Amendment) Bill, the Education (National Minimum Standards and Establishment of Institutions) Act (Amendment) Bill, and the establishment of the Federal College of Land Resources Technology in Kuru and Federal Polytechnic in Zandi, underscored his commitment to education and infrastructure—priorities deemed critical for Plateau State’s future.

Mr. Omotoso Richard noted that beyond his legislative efforts, Hon. Bagos’ humanitarian work through the Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation, founded in 2011, has left an indelible mark on the community. The foundation’s initiatives, including the construction of solar-powered classrooms at Gwandang LEA Primary School in Bukuru-Gyel and aid programs for indigent students, reflect his hands-on dedication to improving local welfare. His empowerment programs, such as skills acquisition for women and scholarships for students, have further solidified his reputation as a leader who delivers results.

Mr. Omotoso Richaed said, “Hon. Bagos doesn’t just make promises—he delivers,” the coalition stated in their release. “His ability to unite diverse voices, his steadfast focus on transparency, and his unwavering commitment to the greater good make him a beacon of hope at a time when Plateau North needs visionary leadership.”

The groups also praised Bagos’ prior role as a volunteering coordinator for the Foundation for Transparency and Accountability, noting his ability to mobilize support for noble causes. They described him as a “result-driven” leader whose actions have consistently prioritized the needs of Plateau North, from job-creating infrastructure projects to expanding access to quality education.

Calling on Bagos to immediately declare his candidacy, the coalition urged the people of Plateau North to rally behind a man they describe as unassuming yet impeccable in character. We deserve a leader who rises to the occasion with determination and grace, they asserted. “Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos is that leader.”

As the 2027 elections draw nearer, this endorsement positions Bagos as a formidable contender, backed by a growing coalition of youth and student leaders eager for transformative representation in the Senate.
