The Kano State Government led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has ordered its 44 local government areas to contribute N15,227,272.72 each, totalling N670 million, for the purchase and refurbishment of six vehicles for the Kano Emirate Council under the leadership of Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II.
The funds, to be deducted from the State/Local Government Joint Account, will be paid to Sottom Synergy Resources Ltd for the supply of four new vehicles and the complete refurbishing of two vintage ones.
The breakdown includes a 1953 Fleetwood Cadillac Limousine and a Diameter 05 420 1969 model, both to be fully rebuilt for N25million each.
Also included in the procurement are a Toyota Hilux pick-up 2024 model for N98 million, a Toyota Hiace bus for N98 million, a Toyota Land Cruiser VXR full option 2024 model for N268 million, and a Prado 2024 model for N156 million.
The directive was communicated through a letter signed by Abubakar S. Dabo, Director Local Government Inspection, for the Honourable Commissioner.
The letter reads: “Accordingly, you are strongly directed to ensure all due procedures are strictly adhered with, please.”
