
The Personal Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Elder Ubong Akai, has appointed three personal assistants to support his office.
According to a statement from the Press Unit of the Office of the Personal Assistant to the Governor, the appointments are part of efforts aligned with the “Arise Agenda of Governor Pastor Umo Enoch”.
The new appointees — Mr. Ubong Ntukidem, Ms Bright Edoho, and Mr. Nsikan Anietie Ekpo — will assume their roles effective June 1, 2025.
“In line with the Arise Agenda of the Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, the Personal Assistant to the Governor; Elder Ubong Akai has approved the appointment of the following persons,” the statement said.
“This appointment takes effect from June 1st, 2025. Congratulations.”
Meanwhile, in another related story, SaharaReporters reported in July 2024 that the then-Caretaker Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, appointed 100 special assistants to form part of his administration.
The caretaker chairman announced this in a post on his X handle.
Ihunwo was one of the caretaker chairpersons appointed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State amid a political crisis in the state.
His post read: “As the Caretaker Chairman of Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State, I have approved the appointment of one hundred Special Assistants.”
