NSCDC arrests man over N1.8m fraud in Kano

Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, have arrested a 28-year-old man, Salisu Abdu Adam, for allegedly duping a married woman of 1.8 million.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday.

“Adam, an indigene of Garko local government but resident of Kawo, Nassarawa local government of Kano State, was said to have committed the offence in Garko local government area of the state,” Abdullahi said.

He said the suspect used local charms to lure his victim, a married woman with ghost promises of better education and an improved and highly profitable business for her.

He said the investigation has been concluded and necessary legal action will be taken against the suspect soon.

“Investigation has been concluded and the suspect will soon be charged to court,” the statement added.

In July, operatives of the NSCDC, Ekiti State Command, arrested and arraigned a suspect, Abigail Timothy, over an alleged ₦159 million visa fraud.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Tolulope Afolabi, revealed that the suspect was taken into custody and charged following allegations of defrauding one Pastor Adewusi Tibatope Samuel and other victims of a total sum of ₦159,108,364.00.

Similarly, the NSCDC arrested an alleged job scammer who specialised in defrauding people of their hard-earned money by promising them fictitious employment in Kano State government ministries
