
The Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (PS-DMCMA) recently welcomed a high-level delegation from the National Product Supply Chain Management Programme (NPSCMP) on a Strategic Health System Maturity Support Advocacy visit. The engagement is a big step toward strengthening the state’s health supply chain infrastructure.
During the visit, the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang for his unwavering support of the health sector. He credited the Governor’s commitment for the remarkable progress in healthcare delivery across the state.
Dr. Ba’amlong also celebrated the news that Plateau State is among a select few approved for the Strategic Health Maturity Support Advocacy by the National Product Supply Chain Management Program (NOSCMP), commending the Director General and management team of PS-DMCMA for their dedication in achieving this milestone.
In his remarks, the Director General of PS-DMCMA, Pharm. Kim Jerry Bot, echoed the Commissioner’s sentiments, lauding Governor Mutfwang’s leadership and strategic investments in healthcare. He emphasized that the Governor’s endorsement of Last Mile Delivery (LMD) in the 2026 budget will significantly enhance the timely distribution and management of medical commodities.
Pharm. Kim also acknowledged the Commissioner for Health’s consistent support, which has been pivotal to the agency’s success.
The NPSCMP delegation reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with PS-DMCMA to accelerate the maturity of Plateau State’s Health Supply System (SHSS).
Speaking, Prof Linus Odoemene, Team Lead ARCESM, outlined key focus areas, which include; Strengthening and advancing the state’s health supply chain through PS-DMCMA, Guiding the SHSS to meet global best practices and maturity benchmarks, Building the capacity of government officials in supply chain leadership, Promoting financial self-sustainability of the supply chain system, and, Applying a business-oriented approach to achieve programme goals.
Commending PS-DMCMA’s achievements, the NPSCMP spokesperson praised the agency’s efforts in fortifying the supply chain and expressed optimism for continued progress through collaboration and shared vision.
This strategic partnership is surely going to be a new era for Plateau State’s healthcare system, one driven by innovation, accountability, and global alignment.
