Respected elder statesman and Afenifere Leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for steering the affairs of Ondo State in the path of peace and stability. Pa Fasoranti said the Governor is “on the right track” and eulogised him for sustaining harmony across the state despite prevailing national challenges.
The nonagenarian leader gave this commendation yesterday evening when the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, OON, paid him a warm courtesy visit at his Akure residence. The visit was in continuation of Dr. Ajulo’s regular tradition of checking on the elder statesman, whom he regards and honours as a father.
The meeting was marked by rich and engaging conversations on the state of affairs in Ondo State and Nigeria at large. Pa Fasoranti, a long-standing advocate of good governance, demonstrated remarkable awareness of developments in the Sunshine State. He spoke extensively on justice, leadership, and the role of government in ensuring peace and progress. They also shared moments on church activities, as both of them are committed members of the Anglican Communion.
Dr. Ajulo, visibly moved by the elder statesman’s vitality, remarked: “I am truly surprised and inspired that even at 99, Baba remains so deeply involved in the affairs of Ondo State with the sharpness of a young man. At an age when many would have retired fully from public concerns, Baba continues to speak passionately, asking probing questions on governance, justice, and the welfare of our people.”
The Attorney General also expressed gratitude to Pa Fasoranti, not only for his unwavering patriotism and moral guidance, but also for giving Ondo State the service of his son, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, who currently serves as the Secretary to the State Government. He further sought the elder’s continuous prayers for fulfilment, peace, and stability in the state, noting that the journey of building a just and prosperous society requires the blessings and guidance of the elders.
The visit, which was witnessed by members of Pa Fasoranti’s household, including the Secretary to the State Government, showed the enduring importance of intergenerational dialogue. The Attorney General said, “It shows the importance of constantly drawing from the wisdom of our elders and leaders like Pa Fasoranti, whose legacy of integrity and service continues to inspire both present and future generations.”
