In what has been described as a moment of sober reflection and patriotic conviction, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Chief Ephraim Usman Gar has officially launched a campaign movement in support of the re-election of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, as Governor of Plateau State,
Tagged: VOTCA an acronym for Vote Caleb Again.
Speaking during the launch at his residence in Jos, Chief Usman Gar declared that at this crucial juncture in the state’s history,”There is no ambition more important, more urgent, or more noble than ensuring the re-election of Governor Mutfwang.”
The Commissioner extolled Governor Mutfwang’s leadership qualities, describing him as “a rare gift to the state, a leader whose assertiveness, clarity of purpose, and unwavering prioritization of unity have steered Plateau through turbulent political waters.”
He added that in a period when political tensions are heightening and sectional interests threatening to eclipse collective aspirations, “Governor Mutfwang has stood as a stabilizing force, prioritizing the state above self and politics.”
Highlighting the Governor’s developmental strides, the Honourable Commissioner cited infrastructural renewal, human capital investment, and deliberate efforts to foster unity across divides as tangible evidence of purposeful governance.
He warned that,It would be a monumental setback for Plateau to derail from this progressive path. God forbid!”
Chief Usman emphasized that a second term for Governor Mutfwang would provide the time and stability needed to consolidate his transformative vision, one aimed at restoring Plateau’s lost glory and repositioning the State among the league of developed and progressive states in Nigeria.
Quoting from scripture, he said,
“Just as Joshua stood before the people and declared, ‘Choose ye this day whom you will serve,’ as for me and my house, we have chosen to follow the path of progress, unity, and development under the leadership of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang.”
Responding to issues bothering on his own senatorial ambition for Plateau Central, the Commissioner noted that while consultations with key stakeholders are ongoing, his political aspiration remains secondary to the collective goal of ensuring the Governor’s return in 2027.
“Whatever ambition I have is fully aligned with consolidating the strides of His Excellency.
At this moment, the collective project is Mutfwang 2027, nothing else supersedes that,” he declared.
With this bold and unambiguous stance, Chief Ephraim Usman Gar has demonstrated not only loyalty to Governor Mutfwang but also a deep sense of selfless leadership, placing the destiny of Plateau above personal political interests.
As the political atmosphere gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Commissioner’s declaration signals the beginning of a strategic, people-driven movement founded on the conviction that Plateau’s future remains safest under the leadership of a visionary and unifying figure whose impact is already evident across the state.
A delegation of PDP Ward Two from Mangu, led by the ward chairman, the councillor representing the ward, and other critical stakeholders, were also present at the unveiling.
They described Chief Usman Gar’s initiative as timely, noble, and sacrificial.
They assured the Commissioner of their unwavering support at any given time.
