46 Pro-Tinubu political groups within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau state have rejected any speculation or potential move by Governor Caleb Mutfwang to join their party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The group leader Comrade Lapshak Yilwatda, the convener of Tinubu or Nothing made this known in statement made available to reporters in Jos on behalf of other APC groups .
‘ On behalf of other 46 APC groups supporting the re election bid of His Excellency President Bola Tinubu in Plateau , We rejected any speculated moves by Governor Caleb Mutfwang to join our party.
“We are confident that Mutfwang would destroy the APC if allowed to decamp to our party .”
” As a group we would continue to maintain that Governor Mutfwang is “sitting on a stolen mandate” and should not be allowed a second term as we express confidence that the APC would reclaim Plateau State in the next election.”
“We hereby issue this statement to unequivocally reject and condemn in the strongest possible terms the surreptitious moves by the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, to seek political refuge in the All Progressives Congress (APC). “
The statement reads that “This calculated attempt to infiltrate our party is not only deceptive but an insult to the collective intelligence of the good people of Plateau State and a dangerous threat to the progressive values and legacy of the APC.”
” We strongly urge all well-meaning progressives across the country to vehemently reject Governor Mutfwang’s desperate maneuvers to defect into our great party.”
” Allowing such a divisive figure into our ranks would only bring misfortune, underperformance, and reputational damage to the APC.”
“We wish to reassure the national leadership of our great party that the APC in Plateau State is growing stronger by the day.”
” New political heavyweights are joining our movement in droves because of the good works of our President Bola Tinubu, as well as that of the APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda.
” Governor Mutfwang should stay in his party and answer to the people of Plateau State for the monumental failures of his administration. “
” The APC remains a home for visionary leadership, developmental politics, and inclusive governance , values that Barr. Caleb Mutfwang clearly does not represent.”
The groups added that the Governor has failed woefully to deliver basic dividends of democracy to the people of Plateau.
