PROF. NENTAWE’S 2027 GAME PLAN: THE MASK FINALLY OFF

By Comrade Prince Miaphen

It is no longer news that the current National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, contested and lost the 2023 governorship election in Plateau State to the incumbent governor, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang. What is, however, becoming clearer by the day is that Prof. Nentawe has not given up his long-standing ambition to occupy the number one seat in the state.

Following his defeat, Prof. Nentawe was rewarded with a ministerial appointment in President Tinubu’s administration, and soon after, ascended to the position of National Chairman of the ruling APC — a position that, by every political and moral standard, demands neutrality, inclusiveness, and unifying leadership. Sadly, his actions since assuming office have painted a completely different picture.

A Chairmanship Driven by Personal Ambition

Rather than closing ranks and working hand-in-hand with Governor Mutfwang in the overall interest of Plateau State, Prof. Nentawe has continued to exhibit open hostility and political bitterness. His most recent outbursts — from a controversial radio interview to the infamous Plateau APC Stakeholders Meeting, where he openly moved to block any chances of Governor Mutfwang joining the APC — confirm that his sights remain firmly set on the governorship seat, even at the expense of party unity and state development.

It is no longer speculation within political circles that Prof. Nentawe’s primary focus is repositioning himself for another governorship run in 2027, using his current position as a launchpad. The consensus among insiders is that he intends to leverage his national influence to consolidate local power and resources ahead of time.

Behind the Curtain: Strategy and Schemes

According to credible reports, Prof. Nentawe plans to use his office as National Chairman to channel federal interventions, appointments, and empowerment programmes selectively to Plateau State, as part of a broader strategy to rebuild public sympathy and political goodwill.

It is also alleged that the APC governorship ticket for 2027 has already been “reserved” for one of his close allies — a serving NAVAL officer from his hometown — who will merely act as a placeholder until Nentawe formally resigns to contest the election himself.

Sources further reveal that campaign materials — including branded posters and billboards — have already been printed abroad – Dubai, to be precise, and discreetly shipped into Jos, awaiting deployment when the timing becomes politically ripe.

A Word of Caution to Other Aspirants

To other hopefuls eyeing the APC gubernatorial ticket in Plateau, the handwriting is already on the wall. Don’t waste your resources or energy yet — the script, as it appears, has been written long before the game began.

The 2027 Replay Ahead

Unless there’s a dramatic shift in the current political trajectory, Plateau people should brace themselves for a repeat showdown between Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe come 2027.

As for me, Comrade Prince Miaphen, I have chosen to politically “retire” for the remainder of 2025 — not out of fatigue, but to refire stronger and better equipped in 2026, when the political climate will be clearer and the stakes even higher.

Until then, let the truth be told. Plateau deserves politics of unity, not manipulation.
