Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, OON, SAN, has reaffirmed that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa remains steadfastly committed to strengthening justice, deepening equity, and upholding human rights across Ondo State.
Dr. Ajulo stated this in his official message commemorating the 2025 International Human Rights Day, aligning Ondo State with the global observance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Attorney General, reflecting the spirit of the occasion, noted that December 10 remains an auspicious day on which the international community commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, a charter he described as a “timeless beacon of hope, dignity, and equality for all humanity.”
He stressed that the day serves as a reminder that every individual, regardless of background, creed, or circumstance, is entitled to fundamental freedoms, justice, and the protection of their inherent rights.
Dr. Ajulo stated that in Ondo State, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the government continues to uphold these universal principles with unwavering commitment. He emphasised that the Governor, widely acknowledged as the Ambassador of Rule of Law in Nigeria, has consistently championed initiatives that strengthen justice, equity, and accountability.
According to him, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has implemented robust legal reforms alongside community-driven programmes aimed at empowering the vulnerable and ensuring that human rights are not mere ideals but lived realities in the Sunshine State.
Dr. Ajulo also celebrated the strides made in access to justice, protection against discrimination, and the promotion of gender equality, acknowledging that these gains are the result of collective efforts involving citizens, civil society organisations, and development partners.
Speaking further, the Attorney General said the day should inspire renewed dedication to the rule of law, tolerance, and solidarity, urging everyone to unite against all forms of injustice and ensure no one is left behind in the pursuit of a more humane and just world.
“Together, we can build a legacy where human rights flourish, and the rule of law serves as the unyielding foundation of our society.” he affirmed.
Dr. Ajulo concluded by extending, on behalf of the Government of Ondo State, the warmest compliments and heartfelt greetings of Governor Aiyedatiwa to all citizens of Ondo State, Nigerians, and people of goodwill across the world.
