One time acting President of the National Association of Nigerian Students Comrade Prince Miaphen ,has expressed sadness over the death of 8 Unijos student who were killed in a car accident in Jos on Thursday.
Comrade Miaphen in a statement made available to newsmen said ” I extend my deepest condolences to the community of the University of Jos over this unfortunate incident. ‘
He said the students were returning to their hostels after attending a “Welcome Back to School Party” for returning students when this tragic incident occurred.
Comrade Miaphen said among the deceased are the President of the National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS), UNIJOS Chapter, and several members of his EXCO, and other faculty presidents.
It is truly devastating that these vibrant, promising young leaders,full of dreams and destined for greatness met their untimely deaths at the prime of their aspirations.
I also pray for the two survivors who are currently receiving medical treatment. May God grant them a swift and complete recovery.
To the bereaved families, friends, colleagues, and the entire student community, I offer my heartfelt sympathy. May you find strength in this moment of deep sorrow, he added.
