Breaking: Chief Kefas Ropshik @50 – Jos Keke Rider Offers Free Rides to Celebrate 50th Birthday

A popular tricycle (keke) rider in Jos, Mr. Bevuk Dokgak, on Saturday, December 28, 2025, offered free rides to commuters across the city in celebration of the 50th birthday of Chief Kefas Ropshik, popularly known as Kefiano.

Mr. Dokgak said the gesture was his personal way of honouring the celebrant, whom he described as a man of impact, compassion and service to humanity. According to him, all passengers conveyed throughout the day were transported free of charge as part of activities marking Chief Kefiano’s golden jubilee thanksgiving and dinner held in Jos.

Speaking to journalists, the keke rider explained that he decided to embark on the initiative after reflecting on the significance of the milestone and the celebrant’s contributions to society.

“Fifty years is not a small achievement. It is not 50 days or 50 months. It is a lifetime of impact,” he said. “Chief Kefiano has lived a life of service to humanity, and that is what inspired me to offer free rides today.”

Dokgak noted that he informed each passenger that the free ride was in celebration of Chief Kefiano’s birthday, urging them to pray for the celebrant’s continued success, long life and greater impact. He added that many commuters responded with goodwill messages and prayers for the celebrant.

He further commended Chief Kefiano for his humanitarian efforts, including running an orphanage home and recently distributing gifts to over 500 widows as part of activities leading up to his birthday celebration.

The tricycle rider also praised the celebrant’s approach to politics, describing it as peaceful and people-centred. According to him, Chief Kefiano’s politics is driven by service rather than rivalry, regardless of party affiliation.

“Whether in PDP, APC or any other party, he does not see others as enemies. He focuses on the people and on service, and that is the kind of leadership our society needs,” Dokgak added.

Chief Kefas Ropshik, a businessman, philanthropist and political figure, marked his 50th birthday with thanksgiving and a dinner ceremony in Jos, receiving goodwill messages from supporters and admirers across the state.
