Ezeoha III Uvuru sues for peace, community development

HIS Royal Highness Eze Iheanacho Chinyereze Mbalewe who ascended the throne on 27 December 2025 as Ezeoha III Uvuru has appealed to the community to embrace peace and unity in order to create an enabling setting for the development of Uvuru.
Ezeoha III in his inauguration speech dwelt on the new dawn before Uvuru and the opportunities it would provide when the people are united and work for the common good of Uvuru.
“In the life of every community, there comes a time for deep introspection; a time to pause and reflect on its journey and appropriately align every step and plan to its set vision and goals. For Uvuru Autonomous Community, there is probably no better time than now, to appreciate the laudable dreams and innumerable sacrifices of our forefathers,” Eze Chinyereze Mbalewe said.
Ezeoha III’s focus was on how to rebuild Uvuru, immediately. He invited indigenes of the community, their friends, and associates to participate in the tasks that would lead to a better Uvuru.
Among those who listened as Ezeoha III Uvuru spoke was Chief Emeka Ihedioha, former Governor of Imo State, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who is from a neighbouring community, Mbutu.
Immediacy in reflected in the empowerment, skills acquisition programmes, and scholars that Ezeoha III is funding personally. Distribution of forms and screening of participants started on 3 January 2026, seven days after the coronation. The training of the selected commences before the end of January 2026.
Eze Mbalewe asked trouble-makers in the community to re-direct their energies to peace, unity and progress of the community. He referenced a 15-year legal tussle that had stalled the development of Uvuru.
His gratitude was deep and spread generously.
“From the depth of my heart, I appreciate you, my good people of Uvuru Autonomous Community, for choosing me to be your Eze. My family and I appreciate your love, trust and the peaceful process that characterised my selection, presentation and coronation. I pledge to serve this community with all my heart, energy, time, talents, resources and network. For Uvuru Autonomous Community, it a new dawn of peace, love, unity, healing, forgiveness, fairness and progress for all. Today, we dedicate Uvuru Ancient Kingdom to the Mighty, Righteous, Loving and Holy God, who our fathers served faithfully, who fights all our battles and grants us peace on every side. As your Traditional Ruler, I will lead you with the righteousness of God,” Ezeoha III Uvuru, said.
The Eze specially thanked the Government of Imo State and Aboh-Mbaise, for their recognition and support; the clergy, his brother Traditional Rulers, Uvuru’s neighbours, the various security agencies, and all persons who made the event memorable.
Uvuru Ikedinairi Ancient Kingdom, as it was once known, had its stool formally recognised by the Imo State Government on 1 January 1980 when it crowned HRH Eze Reuben Ugwuegbulem Mbalewe – father of the current Eze – as Ezeoha I Uvuru Ikedinairi.
