– The leadership of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Council, led by Council Chairman Engr. Francis Nwaochei, FNSE, paid a courtesy visit to the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja today.
The delegation included the Africa Regional Director of SPE International, Dr. Riverson Oppong, highlighting the international dimension of the engagement.
Discussions centered on potential areas of collaboration aimed at advancing technological innovation, fostering stronger industry dialogue, and supporting the sustainable growth of Nigeria’s energy sector.
During the meeting, GCEO Ojulari reaffirmed NNPC Limited’s commitment to active participation in SPE activities and to exploring joint initiatives that could drive increased production. He emphasized the importance of deeper technical support, particularly in subsurface disciplines, to help Nigeria achieve its ambitious national crude oil production target of 3 million barrels per day.
The GCEO also took time to interact with young professionals in the delegation, encouraging them to stay dedicated to continuous learning and to actively contribute to shaping the future of the energy industry in Nigeria and beyond.
This visit underscores the ongoing efforts by key stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector to strengthen partnerships, build capacity, and align on strategies for long-term energy security and economic development.
