The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Austin Akobundu has emerged as the Rapid Personality of the Year 2024 for Excellent Representation.
While nominating him for the Award, the management of Rapid Broadcasting Network Ltd (RBN), owners and operators of Rapid 96.5fm Umuahia and Rapid Television, said the award to Senator Akobundu was as a result of his “remarkable and outstanding achievements, exemplary leadership qualities and immense contributions to public service, politics, and education” in his senatorial district in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
Continuing, RBN extolled Senator Akobundu’s “amazing and outstanding achievements barely one year in office in the Senate representing the good and hardworking people of Abia Central Senatorial District,” describing it as a testament to his “commitment and dedication to legislative excellence.”
“Beyond your notable legislative accomplishments, your several skills training and educational empowerment programmes are top notch and exemplifies your dedication to education and economic empowerment of your constituents…(and) the next generation,” the media house concluded.
