Bauchi Government Plots To Rake In Millions Of Naira After Opening Portal For ‘10,000 Job Opportunities’ With Non-Refundable Fee

The Bauchi State government under Governor Bala Mohammed has been accused of plotting to swindle residents of the state and the general public after it announced the opening of “10,000 job opportunities across various Ministries, Departments, and agencies” with a non-refundable fee for applicants.

SaharaReporters learnt that the state government instructed the applicants expected to run into hundreds of thousands to pay “the application fee of N500 which is non-refundable under any circumstance.”

The money would translate to hundreds of millions of naira in the coffers of the state government.

According to the state government, it claimed that the initiative “is a bold move to empower citizens and strengthen the workforce aimed at creating employment opportunities” but sources told SaharaReporters that the state government had only perfected a plot to defraud the public, especially the teeming job seekers.

According to the statement from the state government, applications will be accepted until May 26, 2025, hence, citizens of the state are urged to take immediate action, as the window for application will close at the end of the month.

The Bauchi State government emphasised the need for prompt submission, noting that late applications will not be considered.

To ensure a smooth application process, the Government said it has set up a dedicated support system, and that candidates can contact the recruitment support team through a dedicated hotline or email for assistance with their applications.

“Applicants are advised to note that only one application per applicant is allowed, and that they must ensure all uploaded documents and credentials are authentic and valid.

“Applicants are also to pay the application fee of N500 which is non-refundable under any circumstance,” the notice read further.
