A Deputy Superintendent of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has accidentally shot and killed his colleague in Life Camp, Abuja.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, when DSC Adekunle Emmanuel was struck by a bullet in his left upper arm above the bicep.
A fellow operative reportedly shot him while they were en route to a principal’s residence at Lias Estate from Corner View Hotel.
Emmanuel was immediately rushed to Maitama General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the development on his X account on Monday, adding that the deceased’s body has been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
According to him, the officer who discharged the firearm is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation.
Efforts made by SaharaReporters to reach the NSCDC for comments failed.
