Former Governor of Plateau State Senator Jonah Jang on Sunday congratulated the State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for holding a peaceful Congress .
Our correspondent reports that Plateau State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held a peaceful Congress on Saturday marking a significant milestone in the party’s journey.
Jang in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos and signed by Clinton Garuba, his Media Consultant congratulated Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, for his leadership and dedication to ensuring a free, fair, and credible Congress for our great party.
The statement reads that “Governor Mutfwang’s commitment to democratic principles and party unity has been crucial in achieving this. It is also noteworthy that his efforts have fostered an atmosphere of trust and confidence, reflecting the trust placed in him by the people of Plateau State.”
This Congress, widely regarded as peaceful and where all candidates emerged largely through consensus, demonstrates the strong bond between Governor Mutfwang and the people of Plateau State.
The statement also added that “The impressive turnout of party supporters in the thousands indicates that the people who voted him into office in 2023 remain firmly behind him and will again support him in 2027.”
Senator Jang, a founding father of the PDP, also thanked the immediate past executives, led by Chris Hassan, for their focused and purposeful leadership.
He also congratulated the new PDP executives, led by Chief Raymond Dabo, and looks forward to their collaboration with Governor Mutfwang to advance the party’s agenda and serve Plateau State.
” The success of this Congress is a testament to Governor Mutfwang’s vision and the people’s mandate. We are confident that Plateau State will continue to thrive under his leadership and assure him of unwavering support to deepen democracy within our party and Plateau State at large,” the Statement further added
