2027: Why Mutfwang should heed our call to join APC now – Zazzaga

*Says APC North Central Forum’s political predictions, calculations materializing

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has been advised once again to heed the call to decamp from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC) now following further developments in his favour right now.

The call was made on Thursday by the North Central APC Forum in Jos the Plateau State capital during their third quarter of the year meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the APC Forum Chairman, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said they were the first political entity to call on the governor to decamp from the PDP to the APC following their calculations and political predictions before and after 2023 elections which are now generally becoming a reality across board.

According to the chairman, their political push has yielded good results among which are the push for the establishment of the North Central Development Commission, push for reverting of the APC National Chairmanship position to the North Central from the North West, push for support for President Bola Tinubu’ policies and call for chieftains/and governors of other parties to join the APC, among others.

“Among all our push and calls is for Governor Caleb Mutfwang to join the APC and that has been ongoing since 2023. Although many other political entities who are now seeing that possibility are now also joining in making the call.

“But the fact remains that we were the first ever to make the call. And this is due to our political sagacity, investigatory wisdom, political mobilization and participation, grassroots engagements, funding of party members and structures among others.

“And talking about the call for Mutfwang to join the APC, he should follow his administration’s mantra of ‘The Time is Now’ and join the APC now. All is now set for him to do so, and his good works and value can appreciate more should he join the APC.

“Another of our outstanding reasons for calling on him all these while is that Governor Mutfwang has so far shown that he is a progressive governor through his works, words and deeds since assuming office. But for him to advance more, he should consider joining the APC.

“This is because joining the APC will put him on the same page with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu who has the interest of Plateau in his heart and has been doing his best to advance it.

“Besides, Governor Mutfwang will be on the same page with his other counterparts in the North Central who are of the APC, and together they will have a common ground and work for the interest and development of the region in general and their specific states in particular.

“Also, most of the legislators from the state are in APC, and they can work hand-in-hand to move the state forward, because the relationship between the executive and the legislature cannot be overemphasized in the pursuance of progress and development, and addressing of the security challenges,” he said.

Meanwhile, Zazzaga explained that the other APC members voting against the coming of Mutfwang to APC don’t understand political strategy, and are on their own.
