A group of youths from Jos South Local Government Area have called on Rwas Gyang Samuel Dungs, popularly known as SAMDUNGS, to contest for the Plateau State House of Assembly seat representing Jos South in the 2027 elections.
The call was made under the banner of Jos South Youths for Progressive Change, with the group led by Samuel Davou Gyang.
The youths described their appeal as a collective decision driven by the desire to see credible and youth-oriented leadership emerge in the constituency.
According to the group, young people in Jos South remain a strong force in shaping the future of their communities, stressing that leadership should reflect the aspirations, energy, and creativity of the youth population.
They noted that Dungs has distinguished himself as an entrepreneur committed to empowering young people through job creation, mentorship, and support for small businesses across the area.
“Rwas Dungs represents resilience, enterprise, and community spirit. His efforts in creating opportunities for young people and nurturing innovation make him a strong candidate for purposeful leadership,” the group stated.
The youths further emphasized that Jos South is known for its peaceful coexistence, cultural heritage, and unity, adding that such values must be reflected in its representation at the state assembly.
They expressed confidence that his grassroots understanding and entrepreneurial mindset would translate into practical policies that promote youth development, strengthen small and medium enterprises, and drive sustainable growth.
“We believe his leadership will bring fresh ideas into governance and help bridge the gap between the government and the people, especially young citizens who are seeking opportunities,” the statement added.
The group maintained that their call is not politically motivated but rooted in genuine belief in his capacity to serve and deliver meaningful development to the people of Jos South.
“As youths, we are united in encouraging him to step forward and answer this call to service. The future of Jos South lies in leaders who understand the struggles of the people and are ready to transform them into opportunities,” they said.
They concluded by expressing optimism that with the right leadership, Jos South will continue to experience peace, growth, and inclusive development as the 2027 elections approach.
