Asaba, Delta State —
The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has condemned the recent attack on members of the (NDC) during their campaign in Asaba, describing it as gruesome and unacceptable.
Speaking on behalf of the party, Hon. Omoidonor Gavin Freeborn said politics should be a battle of ideas, not a war of violence.
“It is high time we, the youth, use our brains and not our emotions,” Freeborn said. “No blood of any youth in Delta State deserves to be spilled just for anyone to get into the Government House. Power is not worth the life of any citizen.”
Freeborn called on the police and all security agencies to immediately swing into action to ensure the total protection of all political parties during their campaigns across the state.
He specifically called on the Executive Governor of Delta State, the Commissioner of Police, the DSS, the Nigerian Army, the NSCDC, and other security agencies to step up security during the campaign season.
“No single individual is more Deltan than any other Deltan. We all have an equal stake in this land,” he added.
He ended with: “God bless the DLA. God bless Delta State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is the youth o’clock!”
