Former senator representing Cross River South, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu has been elected the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for Cross River State, GRASSROOT REPORTERS reports.
Prince Otu who was earlier adopted as the consensus candidate of the party defeated Chief Chris Agara and Senator John Owan Enoh with a wide margin.
He scored 811 votes, while Senator Enoh garnered 84 votes to come second. A close friend of Governor Ben Ayade, Chief Agara scored 63 votes.
Prince Otu, who is from southern district will now face Senator Sandy Ojang Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party.
