PWAN Homes Promised to Allocate Couple’s N12m Land Within 1 Week in April. They Failed

Following FIJ’s story published on April 21, PWAN Homes promised to allocate land to the couple who paid N12 million in 2022 by Tuesday, April 29. On Wednesday, FIJ confirmed that the real estate company did not honour its promise.

After FIJ’s story went live on April 21, the real estate company contacted Kelvin Umeh, the relative the couple assigned to facilitate the purchase, by phone call the next morning.

“They (PWAN Homes) just reached out to me now, with a promise to allocate us land within a week,” Umeh told FIJ around 11:02 am on April 22.

That same day, PWAN Homes responded to FIJ’s email which was sent on April 18. After noting that those responsible for the land allocation delay had been queried and would face disciplinary action if necessary, the real estate company assured FIJ that the couple would receive physical allocation of their land on or before April 29.

PWAN Homes’ response reads: “We appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention and we are pleased to inform you that we’ve initiated an investigation into the transaction. The parties responsible for the delay have been queried and will face disciplinary action where necessary. You have our assurances that we are committed to resolving this issue as soon as possible

“In the same vein, we have communicated with the clients this morning, explaining the circumstances, and we are pleased to confirm that we have agreed with the clients to have the physical allocation of their land on or before Tuesday next week being the 29th of April, 2025.”

When FIJ contacted Umeh on Tuesday, the final day PWAN Homes had promised to allocate the land, he said there was no update from the company.

By Wednesday morning, the situation remained unchanged. “Nothing yet. I haven’t heard from them since that day,” he told FIJ.

Earlier, FIJ reported that when Umeh completed the N12 million payment in July 2022, he and his abroad-based relatives whom he was representing thought they would receive allocation for the land in Enugu State in a matter of months.

However, months turned into years with nothing but unfulfilled promises from PWAN Homes. “They keep promising and promising,” he told FIJ.
