A political group, under the aegis of North Central APC Forum has urged one time Rep member Barrister Edward Pwajok SAN to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Pwajok represented Jos South / Jos East in the 8th National assembly .
Our correspondent reports that Edward Pwajok who is currently a stalwart of the Labour Party .(LP) was also two time commissioner of justice in Plateau state .
Alhaji Saleh Mandong Zazzaga, the Chairman of the North Central APC Forum in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos reads that Pwajok would excel better in the APC .
“One outstanding reasons for calling on Edward Pwajok to join the APC is that he has shown he is a progressive through his words and deeds, and joining the APC will put him on the same page with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu ,and Governor Caleb Mutfwang who both have the interest of Plateau in their hearts .
I want you not to be discouraged by some seasonal politicians who think of themselves alone because they would soon expire ,,but I plead with you to join the APC and work together with Governor Caleb Mutfwang and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ .,
He added that Edward Pwajok would also be an asset to the party, as he is blessed with organic supporters across all local governments in the Northern Senatorial District of Plateau.
The group cited his significant influence and popularity in his senatorial district.
He described Barrister Edward Pwajok as a mentor , movement and friend to the grassroots, saying he believed that his defection would be a game-changer for the APC in Plateau .
It could be recalled that Pwajok served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Plateau State from 2007 to 2014 (under acting Governors Michael Bot Mang and Jonah David Jang), becoming the longest-serving in that role.
He contributed to drafting key laws and served on numerous committees, including the State Judicial Service Commission and Body of Benchers.
In 2016, he was conferred the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), a prestigious title recognizing distinguished legal practice.
He is also a Life Bencher and has handled landmark cases up to the Supreme Court.
He was elected to the House of Representatives (2015–2019), representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, where he chaired the Committee on Human Rights.
Pwajok initially affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), then APC he defected to the Labour Party (LP) in 2022 and was elected as running mate to Dr. Patrick Dakum for the 2023 Plateau State governorship election under LP.
He has been involved in high-profile legal matters, including election petitions and state governance issues.
