Humanitarian Minister Doro condoles with Borno govt ,citizens over tragic bomb blast at a mosque in Gomboru

Minister for Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction Dr Bernard Doro, on Thursday extended his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Borno State, particularly the families and loved ones affected by the tragic bomb blast at a mosque in Gomboru, Maiduguri.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Jos ,Doro said “We are profoundly saddened by this heinous act perpetrated against innocent worshippers within a sacred space. ‘

“Such violence constitutes a grave assault not only on lives and livelihoods, but also on our shared values of peace, faith, and humanity. We mourn with the bereaved families, pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives, and wish the injured a swift and complete recovery.”

“We express our firm confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and in the Federal Government’s renewed and coordinated approach to tackling insecurity across the country.”

Under his leadership, we remain assured that decisive steps are being taken to confront the root causes of insecurity and to restore lasting peace, stability, and safety for all Nigerians.

At this painful moment, we stand in solidarity with the Borno State Government and the resilient people of Borno. We reaffirm our collective resolve to support ongoing efforts aimed at protecting civilians, strengthening community safety, and ensuring that acts of terror do not weaken our unity or national resolve.

Doro further added that ” As a Ministry, we remain committed to working closely with relevant security agencies, the Borno State Government, humanitarian partners, and community leaders to deliver immediate humanitarian assistance to affected families, while reinforcing measures to safeguard places of worship and other public spaces.

May the Almighty grant comfort to all who grieve, strength and healing to the injured, and enduring peace to Borno State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
